The Company: Global

GLOBAL is the largest Spanish social economy enterprise in the passenger transport sector. It was created on 17 March 2000 as the result of a merger of the two intercity passenger transport operators in Gran Canaria: Salcai, covering the south-southeast routes, and Utinsa, covering the central-northern routes. The purpose of this merger was to combine forces to offer passengers a quality service in the island from north to south and east to west.

A modern company at the forefront of new technologies, Global is committed to the community and the users of its services. It has implemented a quality project based on Corporate Social Responsibility that contributes to the satisfaction of clients, worker-partners and the community as a whole by backing cultural, education and environmental projects that help to care for the environment and support sustainable development.

The company has a staff of 769, a fleet of 308 vehicles that travel more than 27 million km a year on the 121 routes throughout Gran Canaria, and more than 25 million passengers a year who count on Global for their journeys throughout the island.

Global holds the ISO ISO9001:2000 Certificate of Quality and the ISO 14001:2004 Certificate of Environmental Quality. The effective management Global has established has allowed it to diversify activities and create a group of companies in a variety of sectors, including transport, software, marketing, training, consultancy, real estate, station management and communications, all within GRUPO GLOBAL.
